Griffith’s letter to de Valera regarding the Ulster issue
Manuscript letter dated 14 October [1921] from Arthur Griffith to President Éamon de Valera referring to the fact that the question of Ulster had arisen in discussions that day and that it and the Crown remained the only outstanding issues for discussion. Griffith expresses the view that they [the British delegation] are ‘willing to go any distance short of using force against Ulster’ and comments on the British delegation’s ignorance of matters relating to Ulster: ‘Their knowledge, geographically and statistically of the province is very poor’.
